  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 25-27 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x

Description

These Valentine’s Day cake mix cookies are a fun and easy treat, combining the softness of cake with the chewiness of cookies. With festive sprinkles and chocolate chips, they make a perfect sweet indulgence for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of Valentine’s Day-themed cake mix (red velvet, vanilla, or chocolate)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips for a twist)
  • 1/2 cup of sprinkles (preferably heart-shaped or festive colors)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and there are no lumps.
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles. If using nuts, add them now.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls (about 1-1.5 inches in diameter).
  7. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each ball.
  8. Optionally, press a few extra sprinkles into the top of each cookie ball for decoration.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and slightly golden, while the centers look a bit soft.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
  11. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving for a festive touch.
  13. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the cookies with different types of chocolate chips or sprinkles to suit your taste.
  • For a more decadent treat, consider adding a drizzle of melted chocolate on top after the cookies have cooled.
