- 1 box of Valentines Day-themed cake mix (red velvet, vanilla, or chocolate)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips for a twist)
- 1/2 cup of sprinkles (preferably heart-shaped or festive colors)
- Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans)
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and there are no lumps.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles. If using nuts, add them now.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rest for about 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls (about 1-1.5 inches in diameter).
- Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each ball.
- Optionally, press a few extra sprinkles into the top of each cookie ball for decoration.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and slightly golden, while the centers look a bit soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving for a festive touch.
