Description
Enjoy a refreshing homemade Strawberry Lemonade, blending sweet strawberries with tangy lemon juice for a vibrant, thirst-quenching drink. Perfect for summer gatherings, this delightful beverage is easy to make and can be customized with mint or additional fruits.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Additional lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water. Hull the strawberries by removing the green tops and slice them into halves or quarters.
- Place the sliced strawberries into a blender and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds to 1 minute). For a smoother texture, strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher, pressing with a spatula to extract as much juice as possible.
- In a separate bowl or pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can warm the lemon juice slightly in the microwave to help dissolve the sugar faster if needed. Add the cold water and stir well to combine.
- Pour the strawberry puree into the lemonade base and stir gently to mix. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill and meld flavors. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the strawberry lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.
Notes
- For a fizzy twist, mix in club soda or sparkling water just before serving.
- For an adult version, add a splash of vodka or gin to each glass.
- You can also blend in other fruits like raspberries or blueberries for a mixed berry lemonade.
