  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar recommended)
  • 1 cup of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
  • 1/2 cup of milk (whole milk preferred)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the breakfast sausage and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well using your hands.
  3. Add the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix to the sausage and cheese mixture.
  4. Pour in the milk and mix until combined. Adjust with more milk if necessary.
  5. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
  6. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls using a small cookie scoop or your hands.
  7. Place the sausage balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each ball.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle extra shredded cheddar cheese on top of each ball.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving platter.
  11. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
  12. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as spicy mustard or ranch dressing.
  13. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, consider adding chopped jalapeños or cooked bacon bits.
  • For a healthier option, substitute turkey sausage for pork sausage.
