  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 pieces 1x

Description

These Pizza Bombs are a delightful snack or appetizer, featuring a cheesy pepperoni filling encased in flaky pizza dough. Perfect for parties or game day, they are best served warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a clean, floured surface, unroll the refrigerated pizza dough. If sticky, sprinkle more flour on top.
  3. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. Cut the dough into squares, approximately 3×3 inches, yielding about 12 squares.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced pepperoni and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
  7. Set the filling mixture aside.
  8. Take a dough square and place 1-2 tablespoons of the filling in the center.
  9. Fold the corners towards the center and pinch the edges to seal.
  10. Roll the sealed dough ball in your hands to create a smooth surface. Repeat for remaining squares.
  11. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  12. Place the assembled pizza bombs on the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  13. Beat the egg for an egg wash and brush the tops of each pizza bomb.
  14. Sprinkle with extra garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  15. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  16. Monitor closely to prevent over-browning; cover with foil if necessary.
  17. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  18. Heat the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
  19. Serve the pizza bombs warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
  20. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
