  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a creamy and rich Fettuccine Alfredo inspired by Olive Garden, featuring perfectly cooked fettuccine pasta coated in a luscious sauce of heavy cream, butter, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. This comforting dish is easy to prepare and perfect for impressing family and friends!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water. Stir gently to prevent sticking and cook according to package instructions (about 10-12 minutes) until al dente.
  3. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, watching closely to prevent burning.
  5. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously to create a rich sauce base.
  6. Stir in garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water if needed.
  8. Toss the drained fettuccine into the skillet with the Alfredo sauce, coating evenly.
  9. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time until desired creaminess is achieved.
  10. Taste the pasta and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if necessary.
  11. Twirl portions of fettuccine onto plates using tongs or a pasta fork.
  12. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and additional grated Parmesan if desired.
  13. Serve immediately while hot and creamy, perfect with a side salad or garlic bread.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and enhances flavor.
  • Don’t Overcook the Pasta: Cook al dente as it will continue to cook slightly when mixed with the sauce.
  • Experiment with Add-ins: Consider adding cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a heartier meal.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of cream or milk to loosen the sauce.
