Description

Indulge in a delicious breakfast with Nutella Stuffed French Toast, featuring thick slices of bread filled with creamy Nutella, dipped in a rich egg batter, and cooked to golden perfection. Topped with powdered sugar and served with fresh berries and maple syrup, this delightful dish is perfect for any brunch gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick bread (Challah or Brioche)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Fresh berries (optional, for serving)
  • Maple syrup (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Spread about 2 tablespoons of Nutella on one side of each slice of bread. Place another slice on top to create a sandwich and press down gently.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until well combined and slightly frothy.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Dip each Nutella sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
  4. Place the first sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are browned and the Nutella is melty. Repeat with remaining sandwiches, adding more butter as needed.
  5. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with fresh berries and a drizzle of warm maple syrup if desired. Enjoy immediately while warm and gooey!

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding sliced bananas or strawberries inside the Nutella sandwiches before cooking.
  • You can prepare the sandwiches and batter the night before and store them in the fridge for a quick breakfast.
  • Experiment with different types of bread for varied flavors and textures.
  • Keep cooked French toast warm in a low oven (around 200°F) while finishing the rest.
