  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 24 brownies 1x

Description

Indulge in rich, fudgy chocolate brownies with a hint of coffee for added depth. Perfectly baked with a soft center and crispy edges, these brownies are a chocolate lover’s delight!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) brewed coffee (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Add the granulated sugar to the melted butter and stir until well combined. The mixture should be smooth and glossy.
  4. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them lightly. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and brewed coffee (if using) until fully combined.
  6. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or wooden spoon. Stop as soon as you see no dry flour.
  8. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  9. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes.
  12. After cooling slightly, transfer the brownies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Once cooled, use a sharp knife to cut them into squares or rectangles.
  14. If desired, dust the top of the brownies with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
  15. For an extra indulgent treat, serve the brownies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.
  16. Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. You can also freeze them for longer storage.

Notes

  • Use high-quality cocoa powder and chocolate chips for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients to avoid dense brownies.
  • For fudgier brownies, reduce the baking time slightly; for cakier brownies, increase the baking time by a few minutes.
  • Experiment with add-ins like nuts or different types of chocolate chips to customize your brownies.
