- 8 breakfast sausages (links or patties)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface.
- Cut each triangle in half lengthwise using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
- If using links, leave them whole; if using patties, cut each in half.
- Cook the sausages in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
- Remove from skillet and let cool slightly.
- Take a smaller triangle of crescent dough and place a sausage at the wide end.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sausage.
- Roll the dough over the sausage and cheese, tucking the point underneath.
- Repeat for all sausages until you have about 16 wrapped sausages.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until smooth.
- Brush the egg wash over each wrapped sausage using a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt over each wrapped sausage.
- Add crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat, if desired.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Place each wrapped sausage on the baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
- Garnish with chopped chives or parsley, if desired.
