Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken tenders under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add the chicken tenders to the bowl and toss until fully coated.
  5. Cut the bacon slices in half.
  6. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Wrap each chicken tender with a half slice of bacon, overlapping slightly, and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  8. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  9. Arrange the bacon-wrapped chicken tenders on the wire rack, spaced evenly.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crispy (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  11. For extra crispy bacon, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  12. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  13. Remove toothpicks if used.
  14. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with chopped parsley.
  15. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the brown sugar mixture.
  • To reduce sweetness, use 3/4 cup or 1/2 cup of brown sugar.
  • Experiment with different spices like chili powder or cumin for a unique flavor.
  • Turkey bacon can be used for a healthier option, but cooking time may vary.
