Arnold Palmer Drink: The Perfect Refreshing Recipe for Summer

  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 glasses 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Arnold Palmer, a perfect blend of black tea and lemonade that’s ideal for hot days. This easy-to-make drink combines the robust flavor of tea with zesty lemonade, making it a classic favorite for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of freshly brewed black tea (cooled to room temperature)
  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemonade
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, remove it from the heat and add 2-3 black tea bags (depending on how strong you like your tea).
  3. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor will be.
  4. After steeping, remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature. If you’re in a hurry, you can place the tea in the refrigerator to speed up the cooling process.
  5. While the tea is cooling, prepare the lemonade. Start by squeezing fresh lemons until you have about 1 cup of lemon juice. This usually takes about 4-6 lemons, depending on their size and juiciness.
  6. In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 cup of cold water.
  7. If you prefer your lemonade sweet, add 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar to the mixture. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  8. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness if necessary. You can add more honey or sugar if you like it sweeter.
  9. Once the tea has cooled, it’s time to combine it with the lemonade. In a large pitcher, pour in the cooled black tea and the prepared lemonade.
  10. Stir the mixture gently to combine the two beverages.
  11. Taste the Arnold Palmer and adjust the sweetness if needed. If you find it too strong, you can add more water or lemonade to balance the flavors.
  12. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
  13. Pour the Arnold Palmer mixture over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
  14. Garnish each glass with a slice of fresh lemon on the rim and a sprig of mint if you’re feeling fancy.
  15. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing drink on a hot day or whenever you need a little pick-me-up!

Notes

  • Herbal Twist: Try using herbal tea instead of black tea for a unique flavor.
  • Fruit Infusion: Add fresh fruit slices for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Sparkling Version: Replace half of the water in the lemonade with sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
  • Batch Preparation: Feel free to double or triple the recipe for gatherings, adjusting sweetness as needed.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; stir before serving.
